The CEO's personal brand is NOT the company brand, and that's fine
Read a 2024 survey from the Brand Finance group that said 68% of consumers trust a company MORE when the CEO stays off social media entirely. I used to think leaders had to be everywhere, posting hot takes and behind the scenes stuff. But my buddy runs a plumbing supply firm in Dayton and he's invisible online, yet his company has a 92% repurchase rate. Maybe the push for "humanizing" the brand is just a trend, not a rule. Has anyone else seen data that backs up the low-profile approach?

My uncle runs a commercial roofing outfit in Cleveland and he literally has zero online presence. His LinkedIn is a photo from 2011 and the company still lands six figure contracts every quarter. I mean, people buy from people but they also just want the job done right, not a personality show. Maybe the whole CEO influencer thing is just for tech startups and not the real world.
