PSA: My custom foam insert for Gloomhaven cost more than the game itself

I dropped about $150 on a laser-cut organizer thinking it would save setup time, but now my group just argues over who has to assemble the 47 tiny trays. Anyone else have a board game 'upgrade' that totally backfired?

Ngl, my group bought the fancy wooden resource trays for Terraforming Mars. They look great but the cubes slide around if you breathe wrong. We spent more time chasing little green cubes under the table than actually playing. The cardboard player boards were annoying but at least they kept things in place.

My friend's $80 metal coin set for Scythe just sits in the box because we all hate the sound they make.

Is the sound really that big of a deal? They're just coins you move around a few times, not a constant noise. Seems like a weird reason to waste eighty bucks.
