Overheard a guy at my local game store say he 'curates' his collection like a museum
He has like 200 games but only displays 30 on his shelf at a time, swapping them out every season. I just keep everything in a closet, but now I'm wondering if I'm missing a better way to enjoy my games. Do you guys rotate your collection or keep it all out?

Huh, I gotta push back on that. Swapping games in and out feels like extra work for basically no payoff, my dusty shelf is just as playable as a "curated" one. Half the time I forget what's even back there, so I end up buying duplicates of stuff I already own anyway. Why complicate something that's supposed to be a stress reliever?

Used to think those guys were just showing off, you know, like it was all about looking cool for people who come over. But then I tried it myself with my books last year, just pulled out ten novels for the summer and put the rest away, and man it actually changed how I looked at them. Having that seasonal rotation makes you actually pick up and play the things you cycle out instead of just staring at the same shelf every day until nothing feels special anymore. I still keep my daily drivers in a tote under the TV but the main shelf gets a fresh face every few months now. It sounds like a silly little ritual but it really does make the collection feel alive instead of just piled up.
