I finally looked up how many episodes of Law and Order there actually are

So I was bored last night and googled it. 501 episodes of the original SVU series. I've been watching random reruns for years and maybe seen 50 of them tops, lol. Has anyone actually watched the whole thing from start to finish?

Heard a podcast where one of the actors said they film like 22 episodes a season. That's insane. No way anyone sat through all of that without skipping a bunch. I barely made it through three seasons of The Wire before I got bored.

Nah, 22 episodes built the story right. Old TV had patience the new stuff lacks.

Watched a 22 episode season of some cop show from the 90s last month. Took me three weeks to finish. @fiona_clark is right about the patience thing. These days you blink and a whole season is over. But honestly I think shorter seasons work better for me. My attention span is shot. Remember when people complained about filler episodes in old TV? Now we call them character development.
