Went to a bad movie screening at the local theater and noticed the crowd was way too into it
I went to this theater in Portland last weekend that does a monthly "so bad it's good" night. They played this 80s horror flick about a haunted toaster or something. The audio kept cutting out during the big chase scene and the projector started flickering about 20 minutes in. Half the crowd actually cheered when the toaster finally attacked someone. I looked around and saw a guy in the front row eating popcorn with his eyes wide open the whole time. It was honestly more entertaining than the movie itself. Has anyone else been to one of these bad movie nights where the technical problems just made everything better?

The local drive-in had a frog infestation once, croaking louder than the dialogue.

Used to think these events were just excuses for people to be ironic about everything. Then I went to one of those "so bad it's good" nights at a rundown theater in Pittsburgh, and the projector literally caught fire during the third reel. The crowd went absolutely nuts, cheering and clapping while the staff ran around with a fire extinguisher. After they got it under control, the movie just picked right back up like nothing happened. Completely changed my mind about the whole concept. There's something real about a room full of strangers bonding over a disaster together.
