I used to think 'The Room' was just bad, but a viewing party changed my mind.
My friend in Portland made us watch it with a bunch of props, like plastic spoons to throw. We had to pause it maybe 20 times to laugh at the weird lines and bad acting. I learned that some movies are only fun when you share the experience with other people. Anyone have a favorite 'bad' movie to watch with a group?

Portland viewing parties sound intense for a movie like that. It seems like the social event is the real product, not the film. Calling it a good movie feels like a stretch.

The social event can be the product and the movie can still be good on its own.

Yeah, that's the thing, @the_betty. You see this everywhere now, where the group activity matters more than the actual thing you're doing. It can make it hard to tell if something is actually good or if you just got swept up in the crowd.
