Tried a 'no mow' patch with clover in my yard this spring

I saw a video about how clover is good for the soil and needs less water, so I bought a bag of white clover seed and scattered it over a bare spot. It sprouted fast and looked great for about a month, but then it got super thick and started attracting a ton of bees, way more than I expected. My dog won't even go in that corner now. Has anyone else had this happen? Is there a better low maintenance ground cover that doesn't become a bee hotspot?

Bees are a good sign though, means your soil is healthy lol.

But is that actually true for all bees? Some types are just visiting for flowers and don't care about the soil at all. I've read that ground-nesting bees are the real sign of good soil health. How do you even tell which kind you're looking at?

Wait, how do you even spot a ground-nesting bee?
