Finally tracked how many pavers we moved for the new patio
My crew and I just finished a big paver patio job in Akron, and I had the guys count every single stone. The total came out to 1,847 pavers moved by hand. I honestly thought it would be under a thousand. Anyone have a good system for estimating that stuff before you start digging?

Counting every paver seems like a lot of extra work for a patio.

Man, that's a ton of pavers. How did you end up so far off? I got burned like that once and now I always lay out a grid with string first. I measure the square footage of the area and then add like 10% extra for cuts and waste. It gets me pretty close every time.
