That Wednesday in Chicago where 3 demos went sideways

I had back to back demos lined up last Wednesday for our B2B analytics platform. First one the client's VPN kept dropping out so we spent 20 mins on basics. Second one my pricing slide had an old number from Q1 and the procurement guy caught it. Third one the decision maker just straight up muted me for 5 mins. By 4pm I had zero follow ups and a headache that still haunts me. Anyone else have a demo day where everything just implodes?

Hold up, the third guy straight up muted you for five minutes? That's a new level of disrespect I haven't seen before. I've had people zone out or check their phone but actually hitting that mute button while you're mid-pitch feels like a power move straight out of a nightmare. How did you even handle that, did you just keep talking? Chicago traffic is already bad enough without clients playing games with your demo.

Three demos in one day feels like a personal attack from the universe (or at least from Chicago).

And three demos in one day means you're basically giving the same pitch three times but to totally different people who all want different things... it's like your brain just starts melting by the third one. I did two in one afternoon last week and by the end I was mixing up which client wanted what product feature. You'd think they'd space these out but nope, gotta cram them all in like it's a marathon.
