Just sat through a presentation with zero customer data - what a waste

I went to a webinar from a big martech vendor on Wednesday, and they spent 45 minutes talking about features without once showing how actual B2B buyers use their tool. The guy kept saying 'we help you target decision-makers' but never gave a stat or case study. Has anyone else sat through these product demos that feel like they’re afraid to share real numbers?

Wait, they actually gave a 45-minute demo without a single real number? That's wild. I feel like any half-decent sales person would have at least one benchmark or success story in their back pocket. How do you sit through that and not walk away feeling like they just wasted your entire afternoon? I'd be pretty annoyed too, especially since time is money and all that.

You ever stop to think maybe they were testing you, not selling to you? Like a weird psychological thing where they dangle all this vague hype and wait to see who actually pushes back and asks for the numbers. I've seen sales guys do that on purpose with bigger accounts to filter out the tire-kickers from the people who actually know what they need. Might explain why they didn't have a single stat ready, they wanted to see if you'd call them out on it. Still a waste of 45 minutes though, but at least it gives you a story to laugh about later. Not saying it's smart sales, but some folks play these dumb mind games instead of just giving you a straight pitch.
