I spent $150 on a cheap multimeter that cost me a whole day of work

I was working on a G1000 autopilot issue and needed to check some sensor voltages. Grabbed this new budget meter I got online. The readings were all over the place, so I kept pulling panels and tracing wires for like 8 hours. Turns out the meter itself was junk and giving false data. Has anyone found a solid, mid-priced meter they actually trust?

Fluke 87V is the only meter I trust.

Guess your house is full of 87Vs then, huh? I mean, gotta have one for the car, one for the basement, maybe a spare for checking if the toaster is really broken. Seems like a pricey way to make sure your AA batteries are dead.
