Found a fix for a stubborn Garmin G1000 AHRS drift issue on a Cessna 172

The plane kept showing a 5-degree bank error that would come and go. After checking all the normal stuff, I tried re-seating the main avionics rack connector with a specific 35 inch-pound torque on the center bolt, not just hand tight. That cleared the fault and it's been solid for 3 months now. Has anyone else found that connector seating torque makes a real difference on these units?

Oh man, that torque spec is no joke. I mean, I chased a weird heading flag for weeks and it turned out to be that same connector just a hair loose. It's crazy how sensitive those pins are. Using a torque wrench like you said was the only thing that made it stick for good.

It's funny how the right amount of pressure fixes so many things, not just connectors.
