Went to the junkyard in Springfield and saw a whole row of cars with the same broken part

I was pulling a door for a Civic and noticed at least eight other cars, all different makes, had their lower control arm bushings completely shot on the driver's side. The guy running the yard said he sees it all the time, especially on cars from up north. I used to think that was just a wear item, but seeing them all fail in the exact same spot makes me wonder about road salt and design. Anyone else notice a specific part that fails the same way on a bunch of different models?

Ever wonder if it's a weight distribution thing, since the driver is always on that side?

My old Toyota had a permanent lean to the left. Mechanics said it was the constant driver weight over years.
