PSA: A customer in Akron swore his 2012 Civic's rough idle was from bad gas, but it was just a $12 PCV valve.

He was ready to pay for a fuel system flush until I popped the old valve out in the lot. Anyone else have a story where the fix was way simpler than the customer thought?

That PCV valve fix is a classic, but honestly the part itself is usually more like twenty bucks now. Still way cheaper than a flush, and it's a five minute job if you know where it is. I've seen that exact thing fool a lot of people.

Yeah, @walker.hayden is right about the price, but the real win is how many shops would've just sold the flush anyway. That five minute check saved that guy a few hundred bucks, lol.
