I thought those $20 Bluetooth OBD2 scanners were just cheap junk, but one just saved me 2 hours of diagnosis on a 2018 Civic

Had a customer come in with a check engine light and rough idle. Code was for a random misfire. Instead of pulling coils and plugs right away, I plugged in a little Ancel scanner I got online. The live data showed cylinder 3 misfire count climbing while the others were zero. Swapped the coil from cylinder 3 to 1, cleared the code, and the misfire moved. Took 15 minutes total. I always figured you needed the shop's $5,000 scan tool for anything useful. What other budget tools have you guys found that actually pull their weight?

Those cheap scanners are great, but a good multimeter is still your most basic and useful tool.

True, @abbychen. A multimeter never lies.
