Warning: Deep mud hole on the Baker Lake trail caught me off guard

I was riding my ATV out near Baker Lake last Saturday. Came around a corner and hit a hidden mud hole that was way deeper than it looked. My front tires sank up to the axles before I could stop. Had to winch myself out using a tree about 20 feet back, took a solid 45 minutes. Anyone else run into sneaky deep holes on that trail system?

You're lucky it only took 45 minutes. That sounds like a perfectly good mud hole doing exactly what mud holes are supposed to do. If you can't handle getting stuck maybe stick to paved roads. Every trail has its hazards and that's part of the fun. Baker Lake has been like that for years, anyone who rides there regularly knows to slow down around blind corners.

Wait, so you're saying 45 minutes of digging and winching is part of the "fun" part of riding? Next time I'll remember to pack a lunch and a good book for the real adventure. I guess some of us just don't appreciate a good mud bath the way we should.
