Found out my 1920s bungalow has knob and tube wiring hiding in the ceiling

I was poking around in the attic to run a new light fixture and spotted the old ceramic tubes sitting right there, which I guess means I need to budget for a rewire sooner than I thought. Has anyone else in Atlanta dealt with this surprise in an older home?

Found knob and tube in mine too. Now I tell guests the house is "vintage".

Ngl that's a rough find. I was real proud of myself for snagging an old Craftsman in Decatur until I pulled back some insulation and found wires wrapped in cloth that looked like they'd been there since the Roosevelt administration. My electrician basically laughed and said "you're lucky the place hasn't burned down yet" which really made me reconsider my whole life choices. Now I'm just hoping my credit card forgives me before I have to eat ramen for the next six months.
