Black and white space images hit different for me
Stripping out all the color makes astronomy photos feel more honest than the super bright ones everyone shares.

Totally get what you mean. Those color images always look like someone went crazy with the saturation slider. The black and white ones just show what's really out there, you know? Like you can see the fine details in a nebula or the sharp shadows in moon craters. It feels more raw and real, like you're seeing the bones of the universe instead of a fancy painting. Makes the whole thing less like a postcard and more like an honest look.

Wait, so space is basically a black and white movie then? Lol. Those color pics do look like they got dunked in neon paint sometimes. Like, remember that one nebula that looks like a rainbow puked on it? Black and white just cuts through the noise and shows the cracks and dust. It's like the universe's behind-the-scenes footage, no special effects. Kinda makes you wonder if aliens edit their photos too much.
