Vent: The Tuesday my entire week fell apart over a single email

I had one good day on Monday where I finished all my tasks by 3 PM, then Tuesday morning I opened an email from my boss that sent me into a 3-day spiral of fixing someone else's mess across 5 spreadsheets. By Friday I had redone 40 hours of work that was never even my job to begin with. Has anyone else had a single dumb email ruin your whole week like that?

Did you ever stop to think that maybe your boss saw you as the only one capable of handling that mess, @bethj44? Getting stuck with extra work usually means you're the most trusted person on the team, not the least.
