Spent $45 on a Crunchyroll subscription and it finally got me through Evangelion

I kept bouncing off Neon Genesis Evangelion for like 3 years because the free streaming sites had terrible subs and bad quality. Finally caved and paid for a month of Crunchyroll to watch it properly. The clean video and accurate translation made such a difference I finished the whole series in a week. Anybody else find that paying for a service actually helped them get into a show they were struggling with?

Three years ago I would've said you were crazy for paying when free stuff exists. But I tried watching One Piece on those sketchy sites for months and the subs were so bad I gave up. Finally got a Funimation trial and suddenly the show actually made sense and I blew through 200 episodes. So yeah, I get it now.
