Serious question, why does everyone act like folding a fitted sheet is a life skill?

I see people post those viral videos showing how to fold a fitted sheet in 10 seconds and everyone goes wild. But honestly, I've been throwing mine crumpled into the linen closet for 12 years and my kids don't care, my husband doesn't care, and the sheets come out fine. Last Tuesday I timed myself: it took 45 seconds to shove it in there and close the door. Why are we making this into some test of adult competency? Has anyone else just given up on this or am I the only one who thinks it's a total waste of brain space?

@kim_hart7 you say 20 seconds but my 8 seconds crumpling proves speed trumps skill every time.

My linen closet literally looks like a laundry bomb went off every time I open it because I gave up on folding fitted sheets three years ago. I have eight sets of sheets in rotation and they all come out of that closet looking like crumpled roadkill no matter what I do. But here's the thing, my mom can fold one in under 20 seconds flat and her linen closet looks like something out of a catalog. She judges me hard for my sheet situation and honestly I think she's kind of right. The whole process takes maybe a minute if you actually learn the trick and then you don't have to fight with a tangled mess every morning.
