Hot take: My coffee routine changed COMPLETELY after switching to filtered tap water

I used tap water for 3 years and thought my coffee was fine. Then I tried filtered water last week and the taste difference was HUGE, like night and day. Has anyone else noticed a huge jump just from changing water?

Third day with my new zero water filter and my morning pour over went from acidic to actually smooth. If your water tastes weird on its own your coffee is gonna taste worse.

Oh yeah, absolutely. I spent like two years using this old kettle that had so much scale buildup I think I was basically drinking mineral water with a little coffee flavor on the side. One time my cousin came over and took one sip and said "what is that aftertaste, did you put chalk in here?" That was the wakeup call. I switched to a basic Brita filter and honestly it fixed the muddy flavor I thought was just my beans going bad. Now I'm paranoid about all the tap water stuff, like I notice when my sister's house has hard water and her coffee tastes flat no matter what roaster she buys from. It's wild how much of the brew is just water and we treat it like an afterthought.
