I finally got burned by not checking a transformer before leaving a job

Installed a full DSC system for a customer in a new subdivision, drove 45 minutes home, got a call that none of the keypads were lighting up. Spent $150 on a new power supply and wasted a whole Saturday going back out when it was just a bad transformer from the builder's electrical panel the whole time. Anyone else skip that simple voltage check and pay for it?

Ngl I used to skip that check too but now I always do it first.

Right? I was the same way. I used to just click through that thing as fast as possible thinking I was saving time. Then I got bit by a billing error I could have caught early and that was a hard lesson. Now I take my time and read everything line by line before I even think about hitting approve. It's become a habit and it saves me a headache every single month. Honestly I just feel dumb for not doing it sooner.
