My $35 air fryer basket liner was either a genius buy or a total waste
I got a special silicone basket liner for my air fryer, thinking it would stop food from sticking and make cleanup a breeze. After using it for a month, my chicken wings come out soggy underneath because the air can't circulate right. But my friend says she loves hers for cooking messy things like marinated tofu. Did I just buy a bad brand, or are these liners actually a bad idea for getting things crispy?

Honestly my buddy had the exact same problem with his liner. He kept complaining about limp fries until I told him to just pull the thing out. Ngl, he said it was like getting a whole new air fryer, everything got crispy again. Those liners seem to just trap steam under whatever you're cooking. Tbh I only use parchment paper with holes poked in it for messy stuff now.

Sounds like you bought a glorified soggy-bottom maker. Your friend's tofu success just proves those liners are only good for food that's supposed to be wet. Toss the liner and let your wings get the crispy air flow they deserve.
