Trying to fix a weird AI image generator glitch cost me my entire weekend

I was using a local Stable Diffusion model to make some art and it started adding random, tiny text to EVERY image, like a hidden watermark. Thought it was a simple setting. Spent 12 hours straight checking configs, reinstalling, and scouring forums. Turns out the model file itself was corrupted from a bad download, something NO guide mentioned. Has anyone else had a model just silently break like that?

That "silently break" thing is the worst. I had a model get corrupted from a RAM error during a long training run. It would generate people with three arms, but only sometimes, so I thought it was a prompt issue. Took forever to trace it back to a bad memory stick.

Oh man, that's smart. I always forget about checksums. Do you have a go-to tool for that, or do you just use whatever comes with the download? I've had stuff get corrupted so many times halfway through and it's the worst.
