Remember when freelance pitches were a letter in the mail?
I just found a box of old printed proposals from my early days. Each one was typed out, mailed, and you waited weeks for a reply. These days, a client expects an email back in an hour. The slow pace meant you really thought about each job you went for. Now it's easy to spray out quotes and hope something sticks. I kind of miss the weight of a stamped envelope. It made each potential job feel more serious.
