Bargain bin beef led to a kitchen catastrophe
I was so proud of myself for finding that cheap beef roast on clearance (figured it was perfect for a slow cooker meal). Got it home, seasoned it up, and let it cook all day. The smell was off from the start, but I told myself it was just the spices. When I went to shred it, the texture was all wrong, kind of rubbery. Tried a bite and immediately knew it was bad. Had to throw the whole thing out, which meant no dinner and wasted money on the roast and veggies. Now I'm stuck eating peanut butter sandwiches for the rest of the week. So much for saving cash, right?
