Why does nobody talk about the eerie silence of old shipwrecks versus today's guided tours?

I remember descending into the gloom around the USS Liberty wreck when it felt like a personal secret! Now, with scheduled group dives and constant chatter, that profound sense of discovery is utterly gone! What happened to letting divers explore and feel the history on their own terms?

Now booking your underwater adventure feels like getting a fast pass at Disneyland.

Honestly, booking the last tour slot brought back some of that discovery feeling.

So @wade263, did you have to elbow your way through a virtual crowd to grab that slot? Booking the last tour must have felt like winning a tiny lottery, especially if the website was glitching. I can imagine the triumphant click before the time ran out. That's probably more excitement than I get from most actual vacations.
