Why does nobody talk about repurposing old furniture for game storage?
I see so many folks in here showing off fancy shelves and cases for their retro finds, and I have to say, I disagree with the need to spend big money. As a general contractor, I deal with storage solutions all the time, and honestly, a lot of it is overkill. I picked up a solid wood cabinet from a curb last spring, gave it a quick sand and a coat of paint, and now it houses my entire Genesis collection. It cost me next to nothing, and it fits right into my living space without looking like a store display. The best part is, each scratch on that cabinet has a story, just like the games inside. Spending a fortune on new stuff just feels like missing the chance to add some real personality to your setup. Plus, that saved cash goes straight into hunting for more games, which is the whole point, right?
