inIf public transport is so sustainable, why do stations leave lights on ALL NIGHT?
My old apartment complex did the exact thing you're talking about, @victor_wright. They swapped all the lot lights to LED with motion sensors a few years back. Our shared electric bill dropped by almost thirty percent the next quarter... it was a shock in a good way. It really proves your point that the tech upgrade is what matters, not just the timer setting. The light only comes on when someone is actually out there, so it feels more secure, not less. It just made the whole argument about leaving lights on seem pretty silly after that.
