A laughable comment at a tasting changed my view on Chardonnay

I figured Chardonnay was too strong until a friend called it a cozy blanket, and now I understand.

Wait, how can a wine be a cozy blanket? That sounds so weird to me. I always thought Chardonnay was kind of harsh and oaky. Did your friend mean it warms you up like a blanket, or is it just smooth? Now I'm wondering if I've been drinking the wrong kind this whole time.

Oregon Chardonnay often avoids heavy oak aging. This leads to a creamy texture that's easy to drink. That's why some people find it comforting, like a cozy blanket.

That 'harsh and oaky' bit (been there) but unoaked is different.
