Finally caved and tried ranch on pizza after 28 years of hating the idea

Last week at a party in Denver, my friend forced me to try a slice dipped in ranch, and now I can't stop thinking about it. Has anyone else had a food pairing they swore they'd hate forever that actually turned out good?

Read somewhere that ranch was actually created by a plumber in Alaska. He mixed buttermilk with herbs. Made it for his crew. Anyway, @thea704 you're not totally wrong, but ranch uses buttermilk, garlic powder, dill, and onion. Sour cream is just the base. It's like saying ketchup is just tomatoes with extra steps. Different flavor profile completely.
