Vent: Dropped $600 on a "professional" fence install and had to redo it myself

Hired a crew in Edmonton to put up a cedar privacy fence last spring, paid them $600 upfront for materials. They showed up late, left gaps big enough for my dog to squeeze through, and used untreated 2x4s that rotted by fall. Has anyone else had luck with those pre-assembled fence panels from Home Depot?

For a lot of people, $600 is a huge hit. That's groceries for a month or a car payment for some folks. Really feels dismissive to wave it off like pocket change when everyone's budgets are tight right now.
