Stumbled upon a lakeside diner thanks to a fellow camper
I was setting up camp and spoke with someone nearby. They mentioned a diner with great pie that is not in any guidebooks. Do you often find hidden places this way?

That "stumbled upon" moment is how I find the best spots too. I read a blog once where people shared their favorite hidden finds from campground chats. Those tips usually beat any guidebook for a real experience.

Last fall in Utah, I found a secret hot spring because some hikers mentioned it over a campfire. They said it was just a local favorite and not on any maps. @the_christopher, those casual tips really do lead to the best adventures. That spot had no crowds and felt totally untouched.
