A bride's mom told me my bouquets looked 'too perfect' and stiff

She said they lacked a garden's natural flow, which made me rethink my wiring. Now I leave more stems loose and use less tape on every piece. Do you think structured or loose designs sell better for weddings?

Remember that wedding where the centerpieces were all tight little domes? My friend did those, and the bride's aunt actually moved some flowers around before dinner to "fluff them up." Now she builds in air pockets and lets a few sprigs of greenery go wild on purpose. Seems like the loose stuff feels more expensive even when it's not.

Totally get that. I saw a table setting once where someone had tucked in every single leaf so it looked stiff and fake. They spent a ton on those roses but it felt cheap. Letting things breathe a little, with some wispy bits sticking out, always looks more alive and thoughtful to me. It’s like the difference between a stiff new haircut and one that’s been lived in for a week.
