My brother ruined the 'Game of Thrones' finale for me in a Walmart parking lot
So I was grabbing some wire nuts and a new drill bit at the Walmart in Springfield last May, right before the final episode aired. I'd been avoiding all spoilers for a week, even staying off social media. As I'm loading my truck, my brother pulls up next to me, rolls down his window, and just goes, 'Can you believe Bran ends up on the throne? What a joke.' Just like that, totally casual. I just stood there with my bag of supplies, completely deflated. The whole drive home I was just mad, not even at the ending itself but that I didn't get to see it play out. He didn't even apologize, he just thought it was funny. Has anyone else had a finale totally wrecked by someone's careless comment right before you watched it?

Look, spoilers are basically a victimless crime. The story doesn't change, you still get to see the acting and the effects. Getting that mad over a piece of information is a choice, and it's a weird hill to die on. The guy's brother probably just forgot for a second, it wasn't some evil plan. If a show is only good because of one surprise, maybe it wasn't that good to begin with.

Ugh, that's the worst. My friend did the same thing with the last season of Breaking Bad, just blurted it out in line for coffee.

My cousin spoiled the Red Wedding for me at a family cookout. That casual betrayal stings worse than the actual plot twist.

Honestly though, is it that big of a deal? It's just a TV show. I get being annoyed for a minute, but being mad the whole drive home seems like a lot. The ending was gonna happen whether you knew or not, and most people hated it anyway lol. My buddy told me the last twist in a movie right before I watched it and I just shrugged it off. Life's too short to get worked up over spoilers.
