I looked up the original ending for that one show and it blew my mind
So I just finished rewatching that old sci-fi show, you know the one with the weird time jumps. I was still kinda mad about the finale, so I went down a rabbit hole. I found this interview with the head writer from like 2012 on a fan wiki. He said the network made them change the whole last episode. The original plan was for the main character to actually stay in the past and let his friend go home instead, which totally changes the meaning of his whole journey. I mean, that makes so much more sense with his character arc, idk. It was supposed to be this big sacrifice, but the studio thought it was too sad. Finding that out made me feel way better about the whole series, honestly. Has anyone else ever had a show's ending make more sense after you learned about cut plans?

Yeah, reading cut content helps a lot.

Actually, it can sometimes make things more confusing... especially if the cut content was removed for a good reason. The story might feel messy or unfinished because those ideas were scrapped early on. I've spent hours reading old scripts and just ended up more lost about what the final product was supposed to be. It's interesting, but it doesn't always help you understand the actual game or movie better.
