My first attempt at a ginger bug fizzed over like a volcano

I used a glass jar from my grandma's house and left it on the counter for 4 days. The whole thing erupted and I had sticky ginger water all over my kitchen floor. Has anyone else had a bug get way too active that fast?

Was it super warm in your kitchen? That heat can make it go nuts.

Yeah, burping twice a day is key. I learned the hard way that if you skip one, you're basically making a ginger bomb.

Oh that volcano stage is a rite of passage. I had to start burping my jar twice a day when it got that fizzy. A bigger jar helped too.
