Am I the only one who had a weird moment with fermented radishes at a potluck?
I took a batch of my fermented radishes to a friend's potluck dinner. The tangy smell hit everyone when I lifted the lid, and a couple guests looked confused. Someone joked that I brought 'science experiment' food, which made the whole table laugh awkwardly. I felt embarrassed trying to say they were safe and tasty, but the mood shifted. Now I worry about sharing my ferments at group events because of the mixed reactions. Has this happened to you with other fermented items? How do you make people more comfortable trying them?

Actually, I did try one out of curiosity. It was as sharp and bitter as everyone said, honestly. So the jokes were pretty accurate in this case.
