Warning: the $8 spicy chicken sandwich from that gas station chain was either a genius move or a regret

I grabbed one on a road trip last week near Tulsa for $7.89 and it was actually decent crispy chicken, but I spent the next 2 hours wondering if the mystery meat would come back to haunt me. Has anyone else had a surprisingly good gas station meal that either saved your trip or ruined your day?

Idk man, it's a gas station chicken sandwich not some kind of life-changing experience. You either eat it and move on or you don't.

Nah man, a gas station chicken sandwich CAN be life changing if you're in the right situation. Think about it - 3AM on a road trip, everything else is closed, and that sad little sandwich under the heat lamp hits DIFFERENT. It's not about the food itself, it's the MEMORY.

Wait, have you guys ever actually tried to reheat one of those things in a microwave or did you just eat it cold? I've had way too many late night gas station sandwiches on road trips and @spencer_perry77 is not wrong about the memory part. There was this one time I got a soggy one in Kansas at like 2am and I still think about that weirdly specific moment whenever I pass a gas station. But you gotta wrap it in a paper towel for 30 seconds max, otherwise it turns into a rock.
