People keep ordering the wrong thing at the drive-thru and it's costing them

I've been working the window at a Burger King in Toledo for about 8 months now. I see it all the time. Folks will order a Whopper meal with a Coke, then get mad when the total is over $12. They don't know the King's Meal Deal with a Whopper Jr. and fries is under $8. It's the same basic fix for less cash. I try to tell them but they just want to hurry. Anyone else in fast food see people missing the cheaper combos?

Oh man, the King's Meal Deal thing is so real. I worked at a taco place and people would order three single tacos and a drink separately, then get shocked when it was like five bucks more than the combo with the exact same stuff. They just don't look at the board or they're in too much of a rush. It drove me nuts trying to point it out because half the time they'd just wave me off.

Feel this deep in my soul. I've definitely been that person, staring blankly at a menu while my brain just refuses to do the simple math.

Remember one time I did this at a burger place, got a burger, fries, and drink all separate. The cashier just looked at me with this tired smile and said "honey, the combo is two dollars less." Felt my whole soul leave my body for a second. I was so focused on just picking what I wanted I completely missed the giant combo sign right above her head. Now I make a point to scan for those deals like my wallet depends on it, because it kinda does.
