I finally tried that "secret menu" item at Del Taco and wasted $8
Saw some tiktok raving about a "loaded quesadilla" you can get by asking for a quesadilla with carne asada and crinkle cut fries inside. Drove 15 minutes to the nearest one, ordered it, got home and it was basically a regular quesadilla with like 4 soggy fries thrown in. Paid almost 9 bucks for something that tasted worse than their $2 regular one. Has anyone ever actually gotten a good secret menu item from a fast food place or is it all just hype?

Is it just me or does it feel like they're purposely making everything more confusing than it needs to be? lol. I swear sometimes I look at a pricing page and I have no idea what I'm actually getting until I've already paid. They really bank on people feeling like they're getting some exclusive deal or insider knowledge. It's exhausting trying to figure out if you're actually getting a good value or just paying for the illusion of it. Solidarity, honestly.
