inWarning: I keep seeing folks at the market in Austin saying their sauerkraut is done after 3 days.
Wait, people are actually eating kraut after 3 days? Honestly, @jackson.kim your "cry for help" comment is spot on because that's basically what that sad salty cabbage is. Ngl, my Polish grandmother would probably roll in her grave if she saw someone pulling kraut out after 72 hours. Tbh, I've been doing mine for 12 to 14 days minimum and it gets that amazing sour punch everyone actually wants. I tried a quick batch once when I was impatient and it was just bland crunchy nothing like real kraut should be. Honestly, if you want decent kraut, you gotta be patient and let those bacteria do their thing for at least a week and a half.

inThat one weekend in Memphis where everything went wrong with my brisket
Wait, thermal maps? People actually do that for BBQ now? I gotta find that thread, sounds like real science behind why my brisket fell apart.

inFound an old cable tester in my dad's garage last week
1991 called, they want their tool pouch back lol. @benlewis honestly that thing probably still works better than half the stuff at Home Depot today.

inJust realized my brand new commercial HVAC unit was installed crooked
Yep, I always check with a 4-foot level before the crew pulls off the lot. These guys rush to get done and move to the next job, so a crooked unit is way more common than people think. Grab a level and call them back this week before the warranty window closes.

inRant: My backup transponder fried a circuit board mid-flight yesterday
Cracked open my GTX 345 last year after a weird flicker and found a loose ground wire that was arcing across the board... not a full failure yet, but it was close. Wonder if Garmin's using cheaper components now or if it's just a batch issue from a few years back. Might be worth checking the power supply pins before they burn out, mine had a hairline crack in the solder joint that the shop totally missed until I pointed it out. Either way, $680 is rough for a board swap, but at least you didn't lose the whole unit mid-flight.
