Spent 4 hours adjusting a single dart on a bodice pattern

I was trying to get a princess seam to lay flat on a cotton voile blouse, and every adjustment made it worse until I realized I'd been sewing the side seams at the wrong angle the whole time. The fitting guide I was following said it should take 20 minutes max, but I wasted a whole evening because I skipped marking the grainline. Has anyone else accidentally messed up a simple adjustment and then had to walk away and come back the next day?

I mean, I've definitely sewn things backwards and just called it 'design features' before walking away for the night.

Got a friend who spent six hours on a quilt top only to realize she'd sewn the whole thing upside down. She said "it's an abstract piece now" and hung it on her wall the next morning. Honestly that kind of stubborn creativity is the only way I survive my own crafting disasters.
