My grocery store trip got derailed by a broken card reader

I was at the Kroger on Maple Avenue yesterday with a full cart, and the chip reader at my checkout lane just kept blinking red and saying 'error'. The cashier, a guy named Mark, tried three different things but it wouldn't take my card. I had to unload everything onto another lane's belt while people behind me sighed. Has anyone else had this happen at that specific store?

Ugh, that's the worst. That Kroger is always having tech problems.

Remember the time their self-checkout froze and just started printing that long receipt for no reason, claireo67? I stood there like a statue while it just kept going. My card declined three times even though I had money, and the poor employee had to reboot the whole lane. I've started budgeting an extra ten minutes just for the machine to argue with me.
