TIL my new 'gentle' enzyme peel actually caused a major breakout on a client.

Used it on a client with combo skin in Phoenix, and she came back two days later with angry pustules. Anyone have a better enzyme rec for sensitive but congested skin?

Are you in a dry climate too? I used to swear by enzyme peels for everything, but after a similar disaster on a client in Tucson I totally changed my tune. Now I only use them on oily skin types and even then I do a tiny test spot first. I think the heat just makes them too active too fast, so the enzymes end up overdoing it.

Wait, you had an enzyme peel disaster in DRY heat? I didn't think that was possible. I always figured dry climates were safer for enzymes because there's less moisture to kickstart them. But now I'm picturing those poor frozen enzyme powders just going haywire the second they touched warm skin. That sounds like a nightmare to clean up, actually. I bet the enzymes just crystallized or something weird. What were you even trying to treat?
