Hot take: That facial massage technique everyone raves about might be overrated
My mentor in Chicago swore by gua sha for lymphatic drainage and said it's the only way to depuff, but after 6 weeks of doing it on my clients I saw zero difference in retention or results. Meanwhile I tried skipping gua sha and just using cold rollers on 12 clients last month and 9 of them said they felt more lifted. Am I wrong for thinking traditional gua sha is getting hyped up more than it actually helps?

Wait, did you try the cold rollers before or after the gua sha? My cousin's esthetician in Portland told her the cold stuff is just as good for puffiness as the scraping but way less irritating for sensitive skin.

Call me crazy @linda_murphy but have you actually timed how long you hold the cold rollers on each zone or are you just gliding around? I noticed my clients only saw results when I kept the roller on each spot for a full 20 seconds before moving to the next area. The gua sha pressure just never felt consistent enough to compare.
