Tried warm networking events vs. cold emails for 6 months in Dallas
I spent January through June this year doing both. I went to every chamber of commerce mixer and small business meetup I could find in the Dallas area. I also sent out cold emails to property managers about my tree service. The warm events got me maybe 2 solid leads total, and both were small jobs under $500. Cold emails brought in 8 clients worth over $12,000 combined. Has anyone else had cold outreach outperform face to face stuff like that?

@abby_chen I'm just mad about all those bad networking pastries I ate for nothing.

I mean I used to be all about the whole "face to face builds trust" thing, but honestly your numbers here are making me rethink everything. Like I always figured showing up in person was the only way to land real clients, but it sounds like cold outreach just works better because you can reach way more people in way less time. Idk, maybe it's just me but sitting in a room making small talk for three hours to maybe get one lead feels like a waste compared to sending out a bunch of emails while I'm at my desk. Your experience is pretty convincing that cold email might be the smarter move for service businesses.
