Update: That $350 digital governor tester just saved my entire Friday on a finicky 90s Otis job.
I almost didn't buy it because the price seemed steep, but after three hours of chasing a phantom overspeed fault with analog tools, this thing pinpointed a bad tach feedback in about ten minutes, so what other modern tools have actually been worth the cash for you guys?

Heard a guy at the supply house last week swearing by those new thermal cameras you hook up to your phone. Said it found a failing drive component on a machine he was about to condemn, just from the heat pattern. Makes you wonder what else we're missing with just the old eyes and hands.

Those little phone cameras are a game changer, @noah914. I keep one in my bag now for quick checks on motors and connections. It's saved me from swapping a few good parts already.
