That customer who watched me diagnose his board for 20 minutes and asked why I didn't just 'swap the chip'
Guy in Columbus pointed at a dead cap on a power supply and told me a $2 part swap would fix it, but when I showed him the burnt trace underneath and the 40 minutes of testing that led there, he said I was overcomplicating it, so I handed him the iron and watched him bridge the wrong pins twice before he finally asked me to finish, was I wrong to let him try or should I have just done the fix and explained later?

Used to hate letting customers touch anything, but now I get it... some people only learn when they see their own mistake melt a board.
